A team of engineers, building generational homes.
iLevel Construction was founded in 2019 by Jason Pedersen, a mechanical engineer who watched too many Black Hills homes go sideways and decided to build them the way an engineer would.

Jason Pedersen
I grew up with a dad who was a small-business owner. As I went to college and took bigger and bigger jobs, I felt there was a better way to build custom homes. Attention to detail. Improving on the mistakes I saw growing up. Building the kind of client relationships that keep family integrity first.
The Black Hills is home. I met my wife and started a family in Belle Fourche, and after years of engineering office work, I wanted to contribute to this community in a real way. iLevel exists because we kept watching people get frustrated with their builder and with the pain of the custom-home process. We gathered some of the best builders, designers, and engineers in the region and built the systems to bring tangible results.
I’ve watched a lot of homes get built in the Black Hills. Most of them didn’t go the way they should have.
The four things every iLevel build runs on.
Transparency
The best projects are built on open communication and clear expectations from day one. Documented, sequenced, visible.

Personal responsibility. Self-reliance. Accountability. We hold ourselves to the standard we ask of every sub on the job.
Organization
Quality home builds start on a foundation of organization. The schedule, the budget, the materials, the decisions — settled before the build.
Execution
Ninety percent done is not done. We finish at one hundred. Every punch list, every detail, every line item.
Locally rooted. Client-first.
iLevel Construction is deeply rooted in the community we serve. Every owner we work with becomes a long-term partner, and the partnership runs through every phase of the project. That approach has set us apart and built our reputation as a customer-first builder in a market that often runs the other way.
Custom homes, end to end.
We build custom homes start to finish — design, preconstruction, and construction held by one accountable team. Our work runs from foundation through finish across the Black Hills and into northeast Wyoming.
Mechanical engineers, building homes.
Several of our team are mechanical engineers. Applying that training to building custom homes makes for sharper drawings, fewer mistakes, and an easier collaboration with the architects and structural engineers on every project.
Accredited and active across the Black Hills.
