How the scan actually works.
At each major rough-in milestone, an iLevel team member walks the home with a 360-degree scanning camera. Every room, every closet, every basement and attic space gets captured. The scans stitch together into a navigable virtual tour, similar to a real-estate walkthrough but with the structural and mechanical systems fully exposed. Locations are tagged. Notes are added by the PM. The result is hosted permanently and accessible to the owner via a simple browser link for as long as they own the home.

For the majority of iLevel owners who are building from out of state, the 3D scans also serve as the most powerful tool for understanding what is happening on site. Instead of looking at flat photos, the owner can walk the home virtually at every major milestone, room by room, in any order, at any time. Questions about whether the kitchen island position is right, whether the master closet really fits, whether the mudroom wall is in the right place, get answered before drywall, when changes are still cheap. 3D Vista is the platform iLevel uses to capture and host the as-built virtual walkthroughs. The scans use a 360-degree camera and a standard floor plan to produce a navigable virtual tour of the home. Owners access the tour via a browser link; no special software is needed.
When during the build do the scans happen?
At every major rough-in milestone, before drywall closes the walls. Typical scans: post-framing, post-electrical rough-in, post-plumbing rough-in, post-mechanical rough-in. Each scan is hosted permanently and the full set is delivered to the owner at project handoff.
Is this an upsell or included in the base iLevel scope?
Included in every iLevel project, no extra charge. We treat as-built documentation as part of the deliverable, not an option. The long-term value to the owner is too high and the marginal cost too low for it to make sense as an upsell.
Can I share the scans with future contractors or buyers?
Yes, and we encourage it. The hosted scans are owned by you.
